18 - Stephanie Walker, Senior

Stephanie (Steph) Walker (18) is a senior at MHS and a 4 year lettering Varsity Soccer player. As team Captain this her senior year she has been awarded throughout her 4 seasons with All Defensive Player of year, twice awarded 2nd team all district, received 110% award twice and received honorable mention in the district. Finally as a senior she hopes to be 1st team all district, defensive player and 110% award (she wants it all). Stephanie has basically been playing soccer all her life either in a playpen on the sidelines as her older brothers played and/or when she began playing at 3years old. Stephanie has played competitive club soccer in Huntsville and in Conroe as a defensive & offensive player since 6th grade until her Junior year. Stephanie was asked to be a USA team member and travel to Australia when she was in the 8th grade. This is a memory she will keep all her life. Other sports participated in was competitive swimming and basketball, BUT SOCCER RULES!!!!!

Stephanie enjoys school with all the social attributes it has. In her sophomore year she was awarded the prestigious award only given to one Sophomore per High School each year in the State of Texas; The Hugh O’Brien Leadership award. She received the honor of being Who’s Who in American High School Students. Stephanie has been a Student Council member all four years of high school. Her favorite thing about school is Soccer…….all kidding aside she enjoys economics (playing the stocks) and Pre-Cal.

If you do not find Stephanie on the soccer field you will find her on horseback. She is passionate about horses. Competitive Speed events, barrel racing, pole bending and goat tying are her choices in the Rodeo Circuit. Her loves are Shoney, Pony, Gypsy, Handsome, Jackie and last but not least Briggs her new pony. They’re all ponies to her but they on average are 15.2 hands high. Stephanie is currently crowned Texas State High School Rodeo Assoc. Miss Congeniality and is the reigning queen of Region IX High School Rodeo Team. She has won money, saddles, belt buckles, tack, clothing, boots, prizes that keep the memory alive for her.

Stephanie plans on attending San Angelo State in the fall of 2008 to begin her journey in life destination not yet determined. Soccer & Rodeo will be in it though….
